Offering a wide range of inductance values and featuring integral EMI shielding, the latest inductors from C and D Technologies (NCL) will suit power designs that have limited PCB space

Offering a wide range of inductance values and featuring integral EMI shielding, the latest inductors from power conversion and wound component specialist C and D Technologies (NCL) will suit power designs that have limited PCB space yet require high saturation currents. The new 23S00 bobbin wound surface mount inductors are low DC resistance devices that are designed for use in switching power supplies, power line filter circuits and DC/DC convertor applications.

Inductance values for the series range from 2.2 to 220uH (1kHz RMS 100mV AC) making the devices compatible with a wide range of off-the-shelf chipsets.

Maximum continuous DC current ratings start at 0.25A for the 220uH devices, increasing to 2.1A for the 2.2uH parts, while corresponding maximum DC resistance values range from 2.28 to just 0.019ohm.

Requiring a maximum PCB footprint of only 5.6 x 6.2mm and featuring a board-mounted profile only 3.2mm, the new inductors are particularly suited to applications where space is at a premium.

The integral EMI shield further helps to reduce board space by allowing the inductors to be mounted in close proximity to other components.

The new inductors will operate at temperatures from -40 to +85C and are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging.

Pricing for the devices is $0.40 based on 10,000 components.
