CSR has launched a high-speed high-accuracy embedded positioning software product called the E5000. As part of its portfolio of GPS demonstrations at 3GSM World Congress, CSR will be showcasing E5000 on a number of platforms including the advanced 3DLabs multimedia processor and the most popular PND (personal navigation device) platform, the Samsung 2440.
CSR provides the most cost competitive, feature-rich GPS solution on the market, allowing very short time to first fix (TTFF), enhanced tracking accuracy, small footprint and low power consumption.
CSR's GPS solution is software-based and requires no further hardware beyond a RF front-end, hence the E5000 requires less than half the power and significantly less space than competing hardware GPS solutions.
Matthew Phillips, Senior Vice President of CSR's Mobile Handset Connectivity Business Unit commented: 'CSR's ability to offer the highest level of GPS capability at significantly lower cost with such small footprint and power requirements is of real advantage to our customers'.
