CSR is expanding its operation in Taipei, Taiwan to help service its growing customer base and to provide space for a larger design support team

CSR Taiwan's new office is located in the Neihu high-technology park in Taipei. Manufacturers in Taiwan are amongst the first in the world to design enhanced datarate (EDR) Bluetooth into end products. EDR Bluetooth is set to take off because the new standard delivers three-times faster datarates and consumes much less power.

CSR's BlueCore4 silicon is the only product shipping today with silicon and firmware qualified to Bluetooth v2.0 with EDR specifications.

CSR therefore recognised the need to have the people and facilities ready to support the anticipated demand.

The proximity of CSR Taiwan to some of the world's largest mobile phone, laptop and consumer electronics OEM and ODM companies is no accident.

CSR Taiwan is expanding its team and facilities in the country to improve its level of customer support, and to enable the team to work closer with customers who use CSR's Bluetooth reference designs in developing their products.

CSR Taiwan first opened in 2003 and was originally operating with three staff helping to serve customers in Taiwan and the wider Asia region.

This was increased to 10 by the end of 2004.

With the opening of CSR Taiwan's new 450m2 office space, the company will be expanding to employ additional engineers, sales and customer support staff, as well as providing the company with an in-house test lab facility.

CSR is based in Cambridge, UK, but also has offices in: Richardson, Texas; Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, Korea; Taipei, Taiwan; and Aalborg, Denmark.

Matthew Philips, Vice President for Asia, CSR commented: 'CSR Taiwan has proven to be invaluable to our Asian operations overall and Asia as a region continues to grow in importance to CSR's global business'.

'The new CSR Taiwan facility in Neihu high-technology park in Taipei is testament to this growth'.
