Cambridge Silicon Radio and SiGe Semiconductor are collaborating on supplying SiGe's RangeCharger PA2423L power amplifier to CSR's customers

Under the agreement, SiGe will provide guaranteed supply and pricing, as well as technical support for the Bluetooth Class 1 power amplifier. To date, CSR has integrated the PA2423L in its Class 1 reference designs, ideal for applications including access points, residential phones and PC motherboards, as well as USB dongles, PCMCIA and flash cards.

The device will be sold through SiGe channels as the PA2423L-R/CSR1.

Clive Chelsom-Pill, CSR's Commercial Manager commented, "SiGe's power amplifiers have been included in our reference designs from the outset.

Proven products significantly aid the customer through the design stage and Bluetooth qualification process, resulting in a faster route to market.

We are very pleased to partner with SiGe as they offer an ideal solution to meet the demanding requirements of Bluetooth Class 1 designs at excellent prices for our customers".

Chelsom-Pill continued, "Earlier in the year we forged a partnership with Fujitsu to guarantee Flash memory supply for our customers at excellent prices.

Our partnership programme with external component suppliers makes CSR's overall Bluetooth solution not only technically the best but also the most competitive in terms of price".

"Our continued collaboration with an industry leader like CSR demonstrates our track record for delivering and supporting the best power amplifiers on the market", said Andrew Parolin, Product Line Manager, SiGe Semiconductor.

"SiGe enables CSR to offer the most competitive packages with assured supply and responsive support.

Close partnership with CSR will ensure SiGe will be able to meet time to market requirements of new dedicated power amplifier devices for the prospering Bluetooth market".
