CSR BlueCore silicon has been chosen by TCL Mobile Communication, one of China's largest mobile phone manufacturers, for its latest handset, the TCLe787
BlueCore is being used in its v1.1 qualified Class 1 and 2 Bluetooth USB dongles, BT009 and BT007. The two USB adapters allow printers, faxes, desktop or laptop PCs to be Bluetooth-enabled easily and cheaply. BlueCore was selected for the designs, which are both BQB approved, because of its small footprint, low cost and ease of integration.
Bluetake expects to be selling the new dongles in Q3, 2002 at which time they will go on sale in Taiwan, other parts of Asia, Europe and USA.
Bluetooth dongles are seen as a vital solution to Bluetooth-enable existing desktop and laptop PCs, as well as to a variety of peripherals, which have USB ports - all of which could benefit from a wireless connection.
The Bluetooth market is growing quickly and future generations of computers and peripherals are expected to have Bluetooth chips embedded into their designs.

BT009 is a Class 2 dongle (10m range) and is a small 63 x 23 x10mm, weighing only 16g.
BT007 is a Class 1 dongle with a range of 100m.
The compact size and full feature set of the Bluetake USB dongles is made possible by CSR's BlueCore single-chip Bluetooth solution.
