Barnes returns to European role
Cadence has appointed Tim Barnes as Vice President of Marketing for the company's activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa
Barnes will hold overall responsibility for the communication of Cadence's platform, product and services portfolio to its markets across these geographies. He has been a senior Cadence executive both in EMEA and in the USA for more than a decade, most recently as Vice President of Corporate Strategy.

Barnes returns to Cadence's European headquarters, Bracknell, UK, after spending a total of 6 years in the company's corporate headquarters in San Jose, California, USA.
He will report to Guillaume d'Eyssautier, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cadence EMEA.
"Cadence relies on clear and innovative marketing strategies to allow it to build on its market-leading position", said d'Eyssautier.
"Tim's extensive knowledge of Cadence and indeed the entire EDA business give him a rare blend of talents that will enable us to take our expertise to market and communicate our leadership strongly".
Having begun his electronics career at Fairchild Semiconductor and later National Semiconductor, Barnes joined Cadence in 1989.
His roles have included engineering management, and product and strategic marketing.
Subsequently he was appointed Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Simplex, which was acquired by Cadence in 2002.
Since the acquisition he has held the position of Vice President of Corporate Strategy.
Barnes has earned degrees in English literature, computer science, building science and architecture from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
