Cadence Design Systems has appointed Guillaume d'Eyssautier as Vice President and General Manager for its European operations

He was formerly Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at IBM Technology Group, which develops, manufactures and markets microelectronics and hard disk technologies. The appointment is a key element of Cadence's global strategy to enhance its regional leadership. Europe is already Cadence's strongest regional market outside North America, accounting for some 22% of the company's worldwide revenues in 2001.

The former Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Kevin Bushby, was promoted to Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations.

Building deeper relationships with customers in Europe and broadening the appeal of the company's products and services to electronics businesses of all sizes will be the focus of d'Eyssautier's role at Cadence.

One of the European semiconductor field's most experienced senior executives, he has held both senior executive and technical positions during his 20 -year-plus career in key roles at leading companies including Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, GEC-Plessey, Matra Harris Semiconductors and Philips Semiconductors.

"Guillaume will lead all European operations at Cadence, taking us to new levels of growth as part of our overall long-term strategy", said Kevin Bushby, Executive Vice President, Cadence, to whom d'Eyssautier will report.

"His role will be pivotal in selling better integrated technologies internationally so that we can provide our customers with complete solutions, generate top-line growth, and develop and expand our valuable customer relationships".

d'Eyssautier has a Masters Degree in electronics and computer science from ISEP Engineering School in Paris, France and an MBA from INSEAD, in Fontainebleau, France, where he majored in industrial marketing and corporate finance.

He is married and has five children.
