Camden Electronics is launching a number of new DIN rail mounting products at Electronica 2002 (12th-15th November, Munich). Centre of attraction will be an exciting new range of snap-fit DIN rail enclosures sporting a wide variety of enhancements and improvements over the company's existing boxes and competing products. The enhancements and improvements result in a highly versatile DIN rail enclosure that can be adapted by users to meet almost any conceivable requirement.
Unlike competing products, Camden's new patent-pending DIN rail mounting enclosures are fully UL94V0 flame retardant as they are moulded in polycarbonate instead of Noryl and other lower grade materials.
Seven versions are available offering lengths of 17.5, 36, 53, 71, 89, 106 and 160mm, all 90mm wide.
Offering greater versatility, Camden's new design features numerous enhancements to make mounting of PCBs easier.
These include PCB guides to ensure boards are held in place firmly and moulded screw holes in the base to facilitate mounting of PCBs with heavier components such as relays or transformers.
Up to three PCBs can be mounted horizontally while there are four mounting positions for vertical boards.
Further enhancements include a fully sealed enclosure base and a design that has eliminated all tabs on the body to avoid small lugs that might break off.
Standard colour is grey (RAL 7035) although Camden can supply mouldings in black, green, red or blue for volume orders.
Also on show will be a wide range of new DIN rail mounting products including extruded interface supports that are suitable for 72 and 107mm width PCBs, a new range of vertical boxes designed for use with the company's 5mm pitch plug-in terminal blocks, new DIN rail mounting supports featuring double width side elements and integral DIN rail mounting foot elements to reduce the number of parts required during assembly yielding significant savings on production costs, and a neat adaptor that converts symmetric "top-hat" style DIN rail mounting products to asymmetric G-style mountings.
Camden, the UK's prime source of PCB terminal blocks, will also be exhibiting new products from its extensive range including UL and VDE approved screwless types and a modified version of its CFTBN fused terminal block featuring double polarisation of the fuse carrier to ensure correct insertion of fuses.
New battery products on show include the BEL06/PS Powerstation, an innovative charger unit designed specially for use with Europa Plus BEL060040S PJ996-style rechargeable 6V 4Ah sealed lead acid lantern batteries.
The CE-approved BEL06/PS Powerstation charger is supplied complete with a fitted 13A mains plug and is capable of holding and charging two PJ996-style sealed lead acid lantern batteries simultaneously.
Features include an over-charge protection circuit and red and green LEDs to indicate power and charging respectively.
With no leads to attach, the charger is extremely simple to operate.
Camden's PJ996-style sealed lead acid lantern batteries are ideal for use in a wide range of applications from communications and radio equipment, through emergency lighting systems and marine equipment to portable lighting, solar powered systems, lanterns, models and toys.
Camden Electronics is exhibiting on booth 469, Hall A2.
