Leading structured and speciality cabling solutions manufacturer Brand-Rex has been awarded the coveted ISO AS9100 aerospace quality systems standard, to add to the existing ISO TS1649 automotive approval rating it has held since 2004. 'Brand-Rex continues to invest heavily in its manufacturing facilities to ensure both sites are equipped for future growth and the ISO award is a fitting tribute to the time and effort made by all those involved'.
Brand-Rex's manufacturing operations were restructured in 2005, in order to develop its two manufacturing businesses into 'centres of excellence' - for datacommunications in Glenrothes, Fife and speciality cable products in Leigh.
During 2005, the Brand-Rex's speciality solutions business embarked on a major development programme for cables to be used in the London Underground's control and communication systems infrastructure.
With the initial programme now complete, the effort has resulted in a full range of high-specification high-resilience products being made generally available.
According to the company, work continues in expanding this range and developing new solutions in response to the needs of other infrastructure projects.
