Levy becomes VP at BrightCom

BrightCom Technologies has named marketing and engineering veteran, Uri Levy, vice president of marketing.

BrightCom Technologies has named marketing and engineering veteran, Uri Levy, vice president of marketing. In his new position, Levy has been charged with setting short- and long-term objectives and strategies for BrightCom and developing positioning for the company's Bluetooth Application Processor approach within specific applications that the company will target for current and future products. He will also lead the company's worldwide communications and product marketing efforts.

"One of BrightCom's greatest assets is the strength of our management team", Yuval Ben-Ze'ev, CEO and president, BrightCom, said.

"Uri brings us strong marketing expertise and an extensive background in application development, operations management and systems engineering.

We believe his knowledge of a variety of industries, such as security, home networking, telemedicine and automotive, will be invaluable in helping us position our line of Bluetooth Application Processors to better serve the needs of OEMs".

Levy comes to BrightCom from Visonic Group, a leading manufacturer of electronic security systems, where he served as vice president of the company and CEO of its signalling network solutions subsidiary, Visonetix.

Previously, Levy held a senior position at Tecnomatix, a software systems developer for the robotics and automotive industries.

He also headed an elite research and development unit in the Israeli army.

Levy earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Tel Aviv University and a master's degree in business administration from INSEAD, France.
