New from Brace Design Solutions (BDS) is the BDS XPCI PCI IP core, a Xilinx Logicore PCI compatible PCI IP core. 'Now ordinary Xilinx FPGA users have access to a professional grade PCI IP core for for the first time', said Kevin Brace, owner of Brace Design Solutions. 'This allows FPGA beginners, FPGA hobbyists, computer hardware enthusiasts, or students to develop their own PCI devices for as little as $400'.
In addition to serving individual FPGA user market, Brace Design Solutions intends to market BDS XPCI PCI IP core for commercial market, particularly FPGA to ASIC conversion market.
'The BDS XPCI PCI IP core, in theory, allows existing Xilinx Logicore PCI designs to be converted to ASIC, freeing Xilinx Logicore PCI licensees from its prohibition of use in non-Xilinx devices', said Brace.
