The XMP 2600 multi-output programmable DC power system is based on a single mainframe which can be configured with up to eight of 22 different power modules

The XMP 2600 multi-output programmable DC power system, now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is based on a single mainframe which can be configured with up to eight of 22 different power modules. The flexibility of the XMP 2600 allows the system to be customised for high-level test and OEM applications, including automotive, military, semiconductor manufacturing, burn-in and ATE.

The modules come in a variety of sizes and power ratings.

One-eighth-width units are available from 160 to 720W, quarter-width units from 640W to 1.6kW, and three-eighth width units from 2.8 to 3.2kW.

The overall rating is limited by the XMP mainframe power envelope (2.4kW, 2.6kW intermittent).

Each module is individually controllable with GPIB and RS232 interfaces for simultaneous control and monitoring.

Designed for efficient testing of devices under test or for replacing multiple power supplies, the software within the XMP 2600's mainframe controller can instantly reconfigure the system to provide different current and voltage outputs.

All XMP functions can be programmed through the GPIB (IEEE488) and RS232 interfaces in addition to manual control and monitoring via the front panel for convenient hands-on operation.

LabView, Lab Windows/CVI, TestPoint and AtEasy software drivers are available for easy integration of these functions in a customised system.

The XMP comes with a convenient virtual panel and tutorial software.

The unit features low acoustic noise operation.

A unique cooling strategy operates silently by independently controlling the speed of each of the XMP's three fans.

Continuous monitoring, warning and shutdown facilities are incorporated to ensure that voltage and current stay within programmed levels.

Other features include built-in disconnect and automatic polarity reversal relays plus extensive device-under-test and load protection capabilities.
