TTi has a digitally controlled version of the popular EL302 laboratory bench power supply

TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) has a digitally controlled version of the popular EL302 laboratory bench power supply. The 30V, 2A unit incorporates an optoisolated RS232 interface, and provides users with a low-cost, basic programmable power supply that is sufficient for many applications where the sophistication and complexity of GPIB is not needed Voltage and current levels are set digitally using either the RS232 bus interface or the local controls.

Setting resolution is 10mV and 10mA.

The all-linear design provides a very low output noise level of less than 1mV, along with fast recovery from transients.

The power supply can operate in both constant-voltage and constant-current modes.

A simple command set allows remote control of voltage, current and output enable, along with readback of metering values and operational status.

Local control is via three rotary encoders which provide rapid and accurate setting of voltage and current during bench use.

The front-panel controls can be locked out when required, making the unit particularly useful in production and test environments where settings must remain fixed.

The EL302P retains the same compact size as other EL series single-output power supplies.

It measures 260 x 160 x 295mm, and operates without any cooling fan.

The unit is supplied complete with Windows-based software which allows the user to build timed or triggered sequences of voltage and current settings and simultaneously view the status on a PC.

A simple Visual Basic applet is also included for users wishing to write their own application or to incorporate this power supply into an existing test program.

The EL302P costs GBP 229 (plus VAT) in the UK.
