B+K Precision has added the Model 240A remote network cable analyser and Model 261 cable tracing probe to its expanding line of cable testers.
The Model 240A is a small handheld tester which enables the user to quickly read the status of Ethernet twisted-pair cables.
When using the Model 240A's tone generator function, the Model 261 probe can trace cables and locate faults, even when cables are in a bundle or hidden in a mess of punch down blocks or wall plates.
The standard 9V battery powered Model 240A tester can be used to test for faults such as open circuits, shorts, crossed pairs, reversed pairs and split pairs, and will identify a fault in a matter of seconds.
And the unit's optional remote probe can be used to trace installed cables and locate areas of discontinuity.
At a suggested retail price of $125 for the Model 240A and $29 for the 261, they are the most aggressively priced network cable testers on the market today.
The Model 240A remote network cable analyser includes one master unit and one remote and can easily be operated by one person testing patch cords or installed cables.
Moreover, the small remote unit is designed to slip into the master unit to prevent loss or damage.
The compact design is very user-friendly and the built-in belt clip permits the unit to be conveniently carried to any job site.
The Model 240A remote network cable analyser comes complete with instruction manual and is priced at $125, quantity one (standard 9V battery not included).
