Beach Solutions has opened a US headquarters facility in San Jose, California.

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the office will provide sales, marketing and technical support to the Northern American market.

The opening of the office represents the second stage in the company's global expansion, and follows on from the recent opening of an enlarged European headquarters in Reading, UK.

Beach, which recently secured $4.5 million in new funding from MTI, one of the UK's leading high technology venture capital fund managers, is pioneering the provision of innovative solutions and design tools for IP packaging, integration and re-use.

Beach's Easi-Tools family includes a fully functional integrated application environment to capture and check IP block interfaces, integrate them into SoC and re-configurable platform structures, and automatically generate associated hardware, software and documentation views.

Easi-Tools require no new language support, is simple to use, and fit neatly into existing design flows.

They automate many of the detailed and otherwise error-prone manual design tasks allowing engineers to concentrate on value added engineering and bringing products to market faster.

By capturing and maintaining all data in a centralised XML database, development teams not only work with the same consistent and up-to-date specification but can also work in parallel with the confidence that interface errors will not be introduced during SoC integrations.

Using the same centralised database also ensures that any original specification errors can be identified and fixed early on in the design process, and any necessary late changes are accommodated consistently across all development teams.

"We are seeing a substantial growth in the popularity of the Easi-Tools methodology worldwide, meaning that customer demand for direct technical and sales support has increased dramatically.

In order to satisfy this demand we now have a dedicated team on hand in the USA to assist customers", says Terry McCloskey, CEO of Beach Solutions.

"This will ensure that all of Beach's US customers have access to first class support - from initial enquiry right through to deployment and daily use.

Moreover, as our business continues to grow in both USA and Europe, we will continue our staffing growth to meet the demands created." Overseeing Beach's US operations will be Terry McCloskey, Beach's Chief Executive Officer.

McCloskey enjoys extensive experience across the global embedded systems industry, having spent over 24 years working across a number of disciplines.

Prior to cofounding Beach, McCloskey worked for companies such as Plessey Telecommunications, Inmos, Plessey Semiconductors, Fairchild Semiconductors and, most recently, Hitachi, where as European Manager he managed its flagship SH 32bit processors.

McCloskey graduated in electronic engineering from Kingston University, Surrey, UK, and also holds a postgraduate business management administration qualification from Bournemouth College, Dorset, UK.
