A new electronic and mechanical assembly service has been launched in the UK. Established to complement the activities of Bafbox (custom enclosures) and customKeypads (membrane keypads), Custom Assembly offers a cost-effective and flexible service to those companies looking to outsource manufacturing. Set up to respond quickly to customer requests and comfortable with volumes from prototype quantities to full production runs into the thousands, Custom Assembly offers the same levels of customer service and quality for which Bafbox and Custom Keypads are renowned.

Many OEMs are now finding that shorter life-cycle products, along with increasing demands for flexibility from customers, mean that out-sourcing production reduces operating costs, frees up capital, and allows for greater flexibility.

It also enables OEMs to concentrate on the core activities of design, sales and marketing.

"More and more of our customers are approaching us with requests to handle their production needs", commented David Thompson of Bafbox, "and the time is right to use our experience in the custom electronics industry to offer these services to existing and new customers alike".

The range of services offered by customAssembly encompasses prototyping, inspection, assembly, test, calibration, PCB and cables and harnesses.
