Device servers for use in industrial automation
The Icon-31000 series of industrial serial device servers from Axiomtek are said to be ideal for infrastructure deployments, such as building automation, oil field automation and factory automation.
The serial device servers are said to provide a way to network-enable any serial device in harsh factory floor conditions and are a cost-effective solution for bridging serial-based equipment to high-speed Ethernet networks.
The Icon-31100 series single-port serial device server can connect RS232/422/485 or isolated RS422/485 serial devices to the industry standard 10/100Base-TX networks (100Base fibre-optics connection is upon request).
This series offers serial-to-Ethernet connectivity in a variety of models: virtual COM, TCP server, TCP client, UDP and pair connection modes.
By default, RFC2217 is enabled when using virtual COM or pair connection modes, and acts as an optional feature when using TCP server or TCP client mode.
To assure all critical data saved in different host PCs, and avoid Ethernet break or the failure of host PCs, the Icon-31100 series can also simultaneously transfer data into eight host PCs.
The Icon-31100 series hosts a point-and-click web-based interface that allows users to access full configuration and functionality of the serial server from an internet browser.
The Icon-31300 series two/four-port industrial strength network-based serial device server can connect RS232/422/485 or isolated RS422/485 serial devices to the industry standard 10/100Base-TX networks (100Base fibre-optics connection is upon request).
This series supports various operation modes: virtual COM, TCP server, TCP client, UDP and pair connection modes.
By default, RFC2217 is enabled when using virtual COM or pair connection modes, and acts as an optional feature when using TCP server or TCP client modes.
The Icon-31300 series can simultaneously transfer data into eight host PCs to assure all critical data saved in different host PCs and avoid Ethernet break or the failure of host PCs.
To increase availability and uptime, the Icon-31300 series provides protection against power input failure and safeguard against power outage.
The backup power input takes over as soon as the electricity fails, minimising the possibility of damage caused by the system shutting down.
With alarm notification capability, the Icon-31300 series provides relay contact outputs for warning network administrators when the power fails.
The Icon-31000 series is ideal for infrastructure deployments, such as building automation, oil field automation, factory automation, and ITS.
