With the recent addition of class 100 capable clean space, Avo Photonics, specialist in RF and optical packaging solutions, now offers full-service medical device contract manufacturing support. To meet the design and manufacturing demands of advanced medical product manufacturers, Avo has added 50m2 of class 100 capable clean space to its existing 560m2 of class 10000 space. In addition to the new clean space, Avo continues to add new design, test and manufacturing tools catered to medical product development.

'There is clearly an unmet demand for design and assembly services for RF and optical products in the medical market', said Mike Vinson, VP of Business Development at Avo Photonics.

'The addition of low particle count clean space is critical for manufacturing advanced medical components and a strong complement to our existing capabilities'.

'We now offer significant value-added capabilities to medical customers who need assistance at any point in the design-through-manufacturing spectrum of optical and RF components'.

Avo's additional capabilities include a broad range of engineering talent, a complete suite of modeling tools, and the most advanced equipment available today.

Avo's complete suite of modeling tools includes electrical/RF, optical, thermal and mechanical analysis, ensuring that products are ready for immediate prototyping and low-volume production, as well as the ability to flow to high-volume production without having to retool or requalify the design.

Manufacturing capabilities include: large, complex, free-space optical assembly; small, high-accuracy component placement; multi-axis laser welding; eutectic and epoxy die bonding; flip chip assembly; wire bonding; seam sealing; and optical fiber attachment.

Avo also provides failure analysis, and supply chain management.

Avo's philosophy is to provide the customer with the design that is best suited for their product and their market, whether it is a custom or standard package.
