ACT/Technico now offers a removable PMC storage solution that enables the quick and easy removal of vital data for safe keeping without requiring removal of the host board. The new PMC ShuttleStor is a two-part mezzanine consisting of a shuttle and a receiving canister. The canister mounts to the host board, allowing for easy insertion and removal of the storage shuttle through the host front panel.

The design of the new PMC ShuttleStor is compatible with both rotating and solid state ATA drives in standard form factors of 1.8 and 2.5in.
The new module also provides better flexibility to meet increasing storage requirements as well as to accommodate upgrades to drive performance.
The PMC ShuttleStor is equally useful for operating system (OS) upgrades and vehicle or system declassification applications.
The existing drive is simply removed and the upgraded module is plugged in.
The hot-swappable PMC ShuttleStor offers the industry's shortest mean time to repair (MTTR), providing high system availability and a much smaller FRU (field replaceable unit).
It complies with the standard IEEE1386.1 PMC mezzanine form factor and features onboard parallel-to-serial ATA conversion as well as onboard hot plug power conditioning.
SATA control logic supports the PMC ShuttleStor's hot swap capability.
The new PMC storage solution provides off-the-shelf device driver support in addition to activity and hot swap indicators on the front panel.
ACT/Technico offers device driver qualified single board computer (SBC) host and ShuttleStor solutions using VME or cPCI based SBCs.
