Displays lab to
provide design-in support
Arrow Electronics' displays business has opened a dedicated technical design and support facility at its offices in Harlow, Essex
In addition to existing FAE capabilities, the new displays laboratory will provide engineering resources, development tools and demonstration equipment and will support design and implementation of custom display solutions for customers throughout the UK and Ireland. The new laboratory offers design-in support and custom solutions for display requirements ranging from simple monochrome character-based LCDs to high-resolution colour TFT modules.

In addition to display products, engineers at the centre have full access to Arrow's complete portfolio of semiconductor and PEMCO (passive, e-mech and connectors) products.
As a result they can provide a fully integrated display development service.
Discussing the opening of the new facility, Chris McAneny, Arrow's marketing director for northern Europe, comments: "The laboratory at Harlow and the dedicated engineering resource allow us to put together integrated display solutions based on technologies from across the complete Arrow product range.
This means that we can choose the best display hardware and complementary components for the job, while helping the customer at all stages of the design and development cycle.
This just enhances our ethos of providing the best technical support to all Arrow Electronics customers".
Arrow's range of display products includes colour TFT and colour STN displays from leading manufacturers such as Hitachi, Toshiba, Sharp, and Kyocera.
Arrow Electronics also offers monochrome character and graphics LCDs and a range of complementary products including controller boards, development boards, touch screens, inverters and cable solutions.
