Software predicts EEPROM wear-out
Version 4.0 of Microchip's Total Endurance software is now available
This powerful and easy to use tool takes the guesswork out of determining the life of a serial EEPROM in an embedded system. Design tradeoff analysis that formerly took days or weeks can now be done in minutes with a level of accuracy that delivers a truly robust design. When provided with a few simple design parameters, the software predicts the performance and reliability of a serial EEPROM within a particular embedded environment and calculates the expected FIT rate, MTBF, PPM level and application life.

Results are plotted in a user-configurable graph allowing the designer to determine the best device for a particular application.
Features include on-screen editing of parameters, single-click copy of plot to clipboard, full-screen or windowed graph view, data export to text or Microsoft Excel file formats, hypertext on-screen help, and an on-disk endurance tutorial.
The software supports Microchip's Microwire, SPI and I2C compatible serial EEPROM devices and can be easily upgraded, as new products become available.
This powerful and easy-to-use tool for is available free from Microchip's website.
