Low quiescent current
for performance comparators

Microchip's new low-power comparators operate down to 1.6V with a low quiescent current of 600nA and a propagation delay of just 8ms

The MCP6541/42/43/44 and MCP6546/47/48/49 devices are push-pull and open-drain, respectively. With an operating voltage range of 5.5 to 1.6V, the MCP6546/47/48/49 have 10V capability at the output, allowing limited control at voltages higher than the supply voltage. The 10V capability feature eliminates the need for additional components to achieve signal transition from lower voltage to higher voltage stages thus saving designers board-space and cost considerations.

The new devices offer rail-to-rail operation at both input and output, allowing the full voltage range to be utilised.

Typical power usage is only 960nW.

The reduced current flow demand extends battery life and reduces current flow requirements making the comparators ideal for devices powered by thin wires, such as office building phones, safety and security devices.

The devices are available in 8-pin PDIP, SOIC and MSOP and 14-pin PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP options.
