High-security encoders take transmitters onboard
A pair of new wireless encoders combine a built-in RF transmitter with the highly secure Keeloq access control system
Microchip's new wireless encoders combine a built-in RF transmitter with the highly secure Keeloq access control system. The 18-pin SOIC rfHCS362G and the 20-pin SSOP rfHCS362F are single-chip, low-cost authentication devices that require minimal external components and offer a "no code development required" system solution for secure authentication.

LDO cuts power for long-term standby
Power-saving low-dropout regulator is ideal for applications requiring long battery runtimes and high tolerance for input-voltage variations
The rfHCS362G/362F encoders include a programmable 32bit serial number and two 64bit user-programmable encryption keys.
The Keeloq code-hopping technology makes each transmission unique, eliminating the threat of capture and resend schemes.
In addition, the length of the transmission eliminates the threat of code scanning.
The rfHCS362G has an integrated 310/480MHz amplitude shift key (ASK) transmitter while the rfHCS362F provides a frequency shift key (FSK) transmitter in the same frequency range.
Both devices feature adjustable output power and a voltage controlled oscillator.
The devices support button queuing, Manchester and PWM encoding, and timing output bits to determine how long a button was pressed.
Additional features include programmable time-out options, programmable data rates and code word blanking options, a tunable oscillator and low voltage detector.
The devices also feature low standby power consumption of less than 1uA, to improve battery life, low operating voltage of 2.1V, and a direct LED drive that also indicates low battery voltage.
