Eurotech offers Apollo and Gemini industrial PCs
Eurotech's Apollo and Gemini industrial PCs are designed for 24/7 operation in industrial environments.
Offering power and flexibility coupled with cool and quiet operation within a 1U-high, 19in (48cm) rack-mount enclosure, they are ideal for applications in audio visual, telecommunications, industrial control or gateway routing and networking.
Suitable for installations where space is at a premium and where low maintenance costs are paramount, these industrial PCs offer a number of lifetime savings for the user, according to the company.
The space-saving 1U-high chassis design means that less cabinet real estate is needed to house devices.
There is a range of processor options coupled to comprehensive peripheral connectivity and two PCI slots available in both the Apollo and Gemini units.
The low power consumption of the units (an Apollo Ice typically uses around 45W) results in direct, recurring savings on energy costs.
This is particularly true in applications where multiple PCs are installed within an air-conditioned environment as the savings occur as a result of reduced power consumption of the units themselves and because of the corresponding reduction in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) plant running costs resulting from the lower heat dissipation from the units.
The rugged, industrialised design of the devices means that they are inherently less susceptible to failures as a result of shock and vibration.
The option for fanless, diskless operation (using embedded operating systems running from solid-state drives) also offers savings in lifetime maintenance costs.
