Arcom has integrated even more of the rich features of Windows XP Embedded into the development kit for the 300MHz SBC-GX1 embedded PC.
Arcom's development kit strategy has consistently allowed customers to quickly develop and demonstrate Windows Embedded-based applications using a reliable reference platform.
The development kit includes a comprehensive build of XP Embedded pre-installed onto a 512Mbyte CompactFlash memory card.
The kit includes support for the Enhanced Write Filter, a feature which reduces the wear on a CompactFlash card by overlaying a copy of the spare CF space into main RAM.
Accesses to the CF card are rerouted to main memory creating a safer and more reliable environment for deeply embedded systems.
"The Arcom development kit for SBC-GX1 has now been included into our regular testing procedures for Windows XP Embedded", said Todd Brix, Group Product Manager of the Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Devices Division.
"The Windows XP Embedded product development team invests significant resources in hardware testing and compatibility to ensure that our customers can rapidly build, optimise and bring to market their embedded systems".
