Arcom Control Systems has expanded its award winning range of development kits for Embedded Linux with Java technology.
The kits provide a ready-to-run platform for a variety of popular embedded operating systems using Arcom's embedded processor boards.
The latest development kit supports Arcom's 133MHz AMD SC520 based Pegasus board, a compact PC/104 format embedded PC designed for embedded control and communications applications.
The hardware/software development kit includes the Pegasus preloaded with a compact implementation of GNU/Linux along with the optional J9T Virtual Machine - IBM's high performance Java virtual machine.
The GNU/Linux operating system uses the proven 2.4 kernel which has been optimised for use on Arcom hardware platforms.
The IBM JVM and the user's Java based application will load and execute directly from the onboard 16Mbyte Flash memory using the high reliability compressed Flash filing system (JFFS2).
This comprehensive development kit includes the Pegasus PC/104 single board computer fitted with 32Mbyte DRAM and 16Mbyte of Flash, PSU, rugged enclosure, serial and Ethernet cable set, Quickstart manual and the development kit utility CD.
Also included is a copy of IBM's award winning WebSphere Studio Device Developer IDE development tools which lets designers quickly develop, debug and deploy Java based applications.
