Siano licenses core for
mobile TV receiver design
Siano Mobile Silicon has taken a licence for a configurable ARC 610D processor core with ARC's XY Advanced DSP
The company will use its ARC licence to develop the new SMS1000 mobile digital TV receiver chip, which is scheduled for introduction later this year and is targeted at a range of products delivering mobile TV services to consumers. These include mobile phones, PDAs, portable multimedia and DVD players, laptops, in-car TVs, portable game consoles and digital still and video cameras.

ARC's revenue exceeds expectations
ARC International has announced its unaudited financial results for the full year ended 31st December 2006
Siano's SMS1000 chip is designed to overcome the challenges of power consumption, mobile reception, cellular hand-offs and single-antenna reception in a small form factor.
ARC's configurable processor provides a low power solution that performs both general purpose and DSP processing functions in a single, unified architecture.
This ensures Siano's designers will have a highly integrated, power efficient ARC-based SoC that meets the demands of the cost-sensitive mobile TV market.
