APW Enclosure Products has extended its range of retrofittable combination and electronic locks for its IMnet and IMserv networking cabinets and IMsuite security systems. Guaranteed physical security and prevention of unauthorised access to the enclosure is an increasingly important requirement, particularly in multiuser environments such as ISP hosting and data centres. A new four-barrel combination lock with master key override has been developed specifically for data centre owners and other applications where one person, such as the IT manager or security manger needs always to have access.

The facility owner or security manager holds the unique master key and the user sets his own combinations; each user can have one of 10,000 different combinations.

The new electronic door lock provides up to 100 users with their own unique security code, a master code capability for the network manager, a 500-transaction audit trail and time and date recording.

The unit stays active if the power fails and can be remotely configured if required.

Both the mechanical and electronic locks are compatible with the single point and three point locking options of the IMnet and IMsuite.
