Codec specialist APT has honoured South Korean digital solutions company Indigon as its distributor of the year for 2005

The company's President KJ Lee was presented with the award at APT's Gala Dinner, which took place at Stormont, Northern Ireland's Parliament buildings. Established in 2003, Indigon is a rapidly expanding company that provides the latest digital video, audio and imaging solutions to the broadcasting, transportation, communication and industrial markets.

The company, which represents APT on an exclusive basis, has worked hard to bring APT's WorldNet Oslo modular codec system to market.

Its renowned technical and sales expertise has resulted in significant sales in the territory.

Commenting on the Award, APT's Managing Director Noel McKenna, says: 'Indigon, under the direction of Mr Lee, has already helped APT establish a foothold for its brand and product lines in South Korea, with significant sales achieved for our WorldNet Oslo codec'.

'Our success is largely down to the close working relationship Mr Lee and his team have established with key customers such as broadcaster KBS and Korean Telecom'.

'They recognise Indigon's expertise in the latest audio and video technology and, like us, have the greatest respect for Mr Lee's knowledge and experience'.

After accepting his award, Lee said he was delighted to have been chosen for such an honour.

'Over the last two years we have developed a close working relationship with APT, particularly with its R and D team who are always open to ideas and suggestions from customers', he said.

'With the rollout of digital audio services in Korea, the WorldNet Oslo from APT is ideally suited to provide the studio to transmitter links required for companies like KBS and Korea Telecom'.

APT's gala dinner was the highlight of the company's four-day international distributor forum, held in Belfast at the end of February.

Nearly 30 representatives from more than 20 countries attended the event, which was designed to expand distributors' technical knowledge of APT's key products and flag up new products and business strategies.

The event included a successful two-day conference featuring a full seminar and workshop programme.

It also provided ample opportunities for APT's distributors to network and exchange ideas and strategies for the future.

The gala dinner at Stormont was hailed as a great success and gave APT's international guests an opportunity to tour one of the country's most prestigious and historical venues.

John Lillywhite, Chairman of APT, gave the keynote speech and other speakers included Belfast MP Dr A McDonnell; Panos Lioulias from Qubis; John Thompson from Invest Northern Ireland; and Steven Craig from BBC Northern Ireland.
