Applied Kilovolts has introduced the SC series of high voltage power supplies for high-throughput mass spectrometers.

The modules feature Tru-Current technology with control at the APCI source and fast polarity changeover in less than 10ms.

The modules are ideal for multimode source applications where changeover, settling time and precise current control are all critical.

They are available as constant current or constant voltage types and are designed for electro-spray ionisation and atmospheric pressure chemical-ionisation sources.

Mark Williams, marketing director at Applied Kilovolts, said: 'By reducing the process time for each batch through the mass spectrometer, the rapid switching speed allows increases in throughput, giving users an improved return on investment.' For corona source applications (constant current mode) the minimum controllable current is 2uA.

All the models are available with switching times of less than 50ms.

Output is highly stable, with ripple less than 0.1 per cent p/p and drift (after one hour warm up) of 100ppm per hour.

The modules are true zero volt crossing and short-circuit and flashover proof.

A fully screened metal case provides good EMI immunity.
