Camera employs shielding and thermal management

Arka Technologies has supplied three key performance related EMI shielding and thermal management products for an award-winning number plate recognition system.

EMI shielding and thermal management products from Arka Technologies feature in an award-winning automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system.

The ANPR system has been created in collaboration with Arka Technologies.

It is an integrated number plate reading camera that will output full ANPR data, such as vehicle registration, date, time and location, along with full and contextual overview images if required.

The camera system was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise for Innovation - the UK's most prestigious award for business-related achievements.

Arka Technologies supplied three key performance related EMI shielding and thermal management products.

Aluminium silver loaded flurosilicone gaskets are produced from the combination of specification grade silicone and conductive particles, and are used in sheet and strip form.

The silicone elastomer acts as an environmental seal, while the silver and aluminium particles provide excellent conductivity to establish EMI/RFI integrity.

Arka's conductive elastomers are made up of a novel composite of high quality silicone and conductive particles, and are manufactured to meet all the advanced military and electronic requirements.

Finally, Arka's gap fillers are thermally conductive silicones that are glass-fibre based, with a boron nitride filler and readily allow the passage of heat while maintaining flexibility through its service life.

This creates an electrical insulative barrier between the two mating surfaces.

In the ANPR system, gap fillers were used to isolate the main PCB from the aperture and light window.
