Link aids passive device characterisation
The AnsoftLinks v2.5 interface for the Cadence Virtuoso digital and analogue custom IC layout editor significantly streamlines the design of on-chip passive devices
The interface makes it possible to export circuit layout cells from within Cadence Virtuoso to any number of Ansoft's high-frequency and high-speed electromagnetic analysis products, including Ansoft's HFSS, Spicelink and Ansoft Designer. "Our objective is to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our customers' design flows", said Brad Cole, Ansoft's SI Product Marketing Manager.

Software provides link to design hardware
AnsoftLinks v2.5 provides seamless data export from the Mentor Graphics Board Station to popular Ansoft design tools for use in high-speed PCB design
"This is absolutely essential for engineers concerned with meeting demanding development cost and time-to-market goals, while simultaneously pushing technological barriers".
As a member of the Cadence Connections Programme, Ansoft has access to Cadence software and application notes, enabling tool interoperability with the Cadence design flow.
The Connections Programme promotes open interoperability in all areas of electronic design, including digital, custom integrated circuit (IC), analogue/mixed-signal and printed circuit board (PCB) design.
AnsoftLinks v2.5 also adds support for Mentor Graphics Board Station and builds on the existing links for Cadence Allegro, Cadence Advanced Package Designer (APD), Synopsys Encore and Zuken CR-5000 Board Designer.
