Dr Rohde, recently elected as an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow, will present "Requirements for high-performance RF/UHF ICs and possible solutions".
The keynote speech, one of three selected for this year's symposium, will identify design and performance problems associated with the operating mode of a base station and will offer possible IC-based solutions.
"The opportunity for improved overall system performance lies in the application of the best-suited technology, such as GaAs FET versus CMOS", said Dr Rohde.
"I am pleased to be speaking at this event and sharing my expertise with those who attend".
Dr Rohde, who has served on Ansoft's board of directors since 1997, has more than 20 years of experience with microwave circuit theory and technology.
He has published numerous articles and books on the subject and has lectured throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
Formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of Compact Software, Dr Rohde currently is President of Communications Consulting Corporation, Chairman of Synergy Microwave Corporation and a partner of Rohde and Schwarz.
