Multistandard meter aids wireless co-existence
At this weeks' Bluetooth Congress in Amsterdam, Anritsu previewed the industry's first multistandard power meter for WLAN and Bluetooth power measurements
Addressing the important issues of power control, peak power and timing in the design and implementation of wireless networks, Anritsu's ML2488A can deliver accurate power measurements on all Bluetooth and 802.11 WLAN standards. With a sampling rate of 64Msample/s, Anritsu's ML2488A offers peak power detection for 802.11a, b and g, eliminating the need for manual correction factors found on current generation of power meters.

Optical device tester strikes up a big band
Novel optical device tester can perform rapid insertion loss measurements on any fibre or bulk optical component over the entire telecomms band
The dual-channel sensor input and display allows simultaneous monitoring of WLAN and Bluetooth devices, which are crucial elements of the co-existence of the multiple standards.
"Covering 3G as well, ML2488A is a testimony to Anritsu's drive to develop products which address the issues of compatibility and coexistence", said Peter George, RF Measurements Business Manager at Anritsu.
"Bluetooth and W-LAN are here to stay and very soon all IT equipment will support them both along with other new wireless standards.
Focusing on coexistence now will pay dividends in the future", added George.
