Tester aids Bluetooth development
Anritsu has added to the support it offers to developers of Bluetooth wireless technology with the introduction of the ME7865A Bluetooth prequalification test system (PQTS)
This follows the introduction of its MT8850A Bluetooth test set and BlueSuite software earlier this year. The ME7865A is the most cost-effective and compact system to offer comprehensive analysis of Bluetooth radios. It addresses all 16 test cases in the Bluetooth RF test specification at frequencies up to 3GHz.

Signal quality analyser measures jitter tolerance
New options allow MP1800A series signal quality analysers to conduct highly accurate jitter tolerance measurements on devices with up to four channels
Higher-frequency capability is provided by options.
The ME7865A is a full Bluetooth prequalification test system that provides a detailed set of RF measurement results for chipset developers, module manufacturers, developers of consumer products and volume manufacturers.
This is the first such system to be priced at under Euro 150,000, making it suitable for use in a much broader range of applications than existing full qualification systems.
The ME7865A provides a single port for connection to the equipment under test (EUT).
Anritsu's proprietary combining network unit removes the need for customers to design their own RF cabling and combining networks, or to address the associated calibration issues.
The system incorporates a Bluetooth controller, a Bluetooth modulated interferer and a CW interferer, as well as a standard Anritsu spectrum analyser for output spectrum measurements.
It is available in a 12U-high rack for benchtop use or in a floor-standing rack.
The software running on the ME7865A has been developed in partnership with CETECOM Spain.
CETECOM is established as a leading Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF candidate) with test laboratories in Europe, USA and Asia.
The test management software creates test cases derived from the features supported by the customer's Bluetooth device.
The software controls the instruments in the test system, to automatically perform the measurements, taking calibration issues into account.
It also incorporates a report generator, which, in addition to providing numeric results, uniquely provides packet traces.
