Anritsu has introduced five new Site Master transmission-line and antenna analysers

Anritsu has introduced five new Site Master transmission-line and antenna analysers designed with a new configuration that makes it even easier to detect cable feedline and antenna system problems before they become costly, time-consuming system failures. The new models offer higher frequency operation and are equipped with all the features that have made Site Master the industry's leading cable and antenna analyser, plus new ones that simplify measurements made by service providers, network operators, and contractors who install, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot wireless communications systems operating at frequencies up to 20GHz.

Anritsu has enhanced the Site Master's menu-driven interface to include cable-specific folders of the most popular cables.

The characteristics of the cables and all appropriate testing parameters are programmed in the folders, eliminating set-up error and assuring sweep accuracy.

This new feature complements Site Master's existing menu operations, which are designed to make the analysers simple to operate, even for first-time users.

Among the capabilities of the menu-driven interface are the ability to store up to ten test setups for fast, repeatable testing and storage of up to 200 measurement traces in non-volatile memory.

Further simplifying operation is Anritsu's new InstaCal calibration module.

Available as an option on the one-port Site Master models, InstaCal can reduce calibration time by as much as 50%.

With InstaCal, users only need to connect the calibration module once, thereby reducing problems such as pin gap, bad thread connections and other human errors associated with repetitive connections to the test port during multiple calibrations.

This saves companies both time and training.

The new Site Master models also feature a multilingual user interface that allows the on-screen menus and messages to be displayed in six different languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French and German.

All the Site Master analysers have high immunity to ambient RF levels, as well as excellent directivity and source match, which result in accurate and repeatable return loss/SWR and fault location measurements.

Site Master's high immunity to interference (+17dBm on-channel) allows users to conduct highly accurate measurements of an active site.

The analysers provide 517 data points that enable identification of faults at more than twice the range of competitive offerings.

A full range of marker and limit functions facilitates quick, comprehensive measurements.

The Site Master family is designed specifically for field environments.

In addition to being rugged enough to withstand harsh environments and rough handling, the analysers are so light and small that they can fit into a backpack.

They have a large, high-resolution (640 x 480) display featuring contrast and backlighting capabilities, which make it easy to view results under a variety of field conditions.

Built-in energy conservation, combined with a rechargeable battery pack, allows users to extend battery life beyond 8h.

The analysers can also be operated from a 12.5V DC source.
