Building on the proven VF-20, the VF-20-W interferometer from Arden Photonics is ideal for inspection of end quality and flatness of optical fibres up to 1mm in diameter. The VF-20-W has been developed in response to requests from manufacturers of fibre assemblies for laser power delivery, and makers of medical devices such as endoscopes. The VF-20-W is a compact system, with a 5mm working distance between the end of the fibre and the optical elements.

The specially designed fibre holder is removable for easy loading, and can be re-attached to the unit using a kinematic mount for quick and accurate alignment.

The system has an 'inspect' mode, for analysis of surface quality, and 'fringe' mode which displays the interferogram used in the assessment of the flatness and end angle of the fibre.
