In addition to having all the advantages of a quick-lock interface, the CQN achieves electronic performance equivalent to the original Type N connector from DC to 11GHz.

In 2004, the Quick Lock Formula (QLF) Alliance of Huber+Suhner, Radiall, Rosenberger and Amphenol released the QN, a quick-locking replacement for the widely applied Type N connector As a result of the new snap on interface, this design offered numerous advantages over the threaded connection of the N type: advantages that include 10x faster mating and demating, significant conservation of space because torque wrench clearance was no longer required for installation, and the ability to rotate the cable 360 degrees after attaching the connector
