New Zealand frequency
sources in franchise deal
A franchise agreement will see the distribution of GPS frequency sources from New Zealand
Anglia has signed a franchise agreement to distribute GPS frequency sources with Rakon of New Zealand. Rakon is the world leader in temperature-controlled crystal oscillators (TCXOs) for GPS systems having a market share greater than 50%. GPS applications demand TCXOs with exceptionally high levels of frequency stability and resistance to shock and vibration, particularly as many systems are used in mobile and portable environments where wide temperature ranges are experienced.

The Rakon devices are matched for use with Nemerix chip sets, also distributed by Anglia, enabling the distributor to provide all of the parts needed to develop very low power GPS systems.
Rakon recently acquired the frequency-control products division of C-MAC MicroTechnology, adding further crystal and oscillator products to its portfolio.
Anglia's Divisional Marketing Manager for wireless, opto and displays comments: 'We have been selling Nemerix parts for several months now and it quickly became clear to us that customers were struggling to source suitable frequency sources with which to drive the parts'.
'We're delighted to have landed a deal with the established world leader in this technology, and to be able to continue a tradition of developing Anglia's business based on understanding our customers' applications and delivering the products and support they need to ensure that they develop successful products'.
