OS-agnostic touch screen TFTs with EMI filters

Anders Electronics has launched 'Smart Touch Modules', a range of small to medium-sized thin-film transistor (TFT) display platforms, pre-integrated with driving electronics and backlight drivers.

These off-the-shelf units are available in nine different screen sizes and resolutions from 3.5in QVGA to 10.4inXGA, incorporating both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.

The touch screens are ready to be connected via a standard serial port to the device host processor and also OS-agnostic, meaning they work with any host operating system or even none at all.

Features include a real-time clock, battery, buzzer and a USB port for updating the graphics library.

A complementary UI software tool is available to enable rapid and simple implementation of a graphical user interface (GUI) which is then stored within the on-board flash memory.

Low-overhead mechanical and technical integration means that Smart Touch Modules are suited to products with low-to-medium production volumes (500-5000 pieces), enabling device manufacturers to bring next-generation products to market quickly and cost-effectively.

Display enhancements for the Smart Touch Modules include sunlight-readability, chemically strengthened glass, optical bonding and EMI filters.
