Frugal dual amplifier is cool performer
New from Analog Devices, the AD8039 is a dual voltage-feedback amplifier that, even at 350MHz, has exceptionally low quiescent current of 1mA typical per amplifier
The low power of the AD8039 will allow designers to minimise battery requirements and reduce cooling requirements which, in turn, will save cost and/or allow higher density boards. Lower temperatures could also be expected to increase system reliability and life of the product. The AD8039 features -3dB unity-gain bandwidth at 350MHz, a high slew rate of 425V/us and low offset voltage of 5mV maximum.

Embedded processor saves power under water
A novel undersea pipeline monitoring system features multiple sensor nodes, each driven by a Blackfin processor
Fabricated on ADI's proprietary XFCB process allows for low-noise operation (8nV/rt-Hz and 600fA/rt-Hz) at extremely low quiescent current.
The AD8039 also has wide input common mode range of +/-1V from either rail and will swing within 1V of each rail on the output.
Given its wide voltage range, the AD8039 can work in a variety of applications where power and space are at a premium, such as dense systems like automatic test equipment, medical instrumentation, portable equipment, PC boards, and wireless communication.
The AD8039 is also well suited for use in filters, driving ADCs, level shifting and buffering.
The AD8039 is the only low-power, high-speed amplifier available in such tiny packages.
The AD8039 is packaged in a SOT23-8, and is rated to work over the industrial temperature range, -40 to +85C.
A single version, the AD8038, will be available shortly.
