Analog Devices has expanded its line of auto-zero (or chopper-stabilised) amplifiers with the AD8628 - a zero-drift single-supply rail-to-rail I/O low-noise op amp in a tiny SOT-23 package

Using a new proprietary topology, this zero-drift amplifier combines low cost with high accuracy and the lowest noise available, reducing the digital switching noise that plagues most chopper-stabilised amplifiers. The AD8628 also saves costs - and precious board space - because it does not require any external capacitors.

The AD8628 has the lowest noise of any auto-zero amp (0.5uV peak-peak, 0 to 10Hz), with low offset voltage of only 5uV max, and input offset drift of less than 0.02uV/C max.

The AD8628, which operates on a single supply from 2.7 to 5V, has rail-to-rail input and output swing and a very low input bias current of just 30pA.

With a typical offset voltage of 2uV, offset drift is less than 0.005uV/C and noise is only 0.5uV peak-peak (0 to 10Hz), the AD8628 is designed for applications where error sources cannot be tolerated.

Engineers can take advantage of the rail-to-rail input and output swings provided by the AD8628 to reduce input biasing complexity and maximise SNR.

The AD8628 is packaged in the tiny SOT-23 and popular 8-pin narrow SOIC, and is fully specified for operation over the extended industrial temperature range between -40 and +125C.

Pricing in 1000-piece quantities is $1.25 per unit.

Samples and production volumes are available now from stock.
