Analog Devices has unveiled a new DSP equipped with Layer 1 software that together are claimed to reduce system costs of 3G infrastructure equipment by up to 50% As the only DSP solution with the performance to enable an "all software" approach, ADI's TigerSHARC ADSP-TS101S is better equipped to address manufacturer's needs for flexibility, high performance, reduced bill of materials cost and added capacity than the traditional hardware approach that relies heavily on DSP plus ASICs and FPGAs
