The latest version of Lloyd Instruments' Nexygen MT materials testing software holds a vast library of international standard tests to check the strength of components and materials used in electronics manufacturing. The primary features of this new version include powerful security and data audit tracking, video capture and playback and extended instrument interfaces. Nexygen MT v4.5 is used to control the company's 'Plus', EZ and LR universal testing machine ranges, and Chatillon digital force gauges.
The new security and audit trail features ensure strict data security and traceability.
The software now records details of all logins and logouts, and when each test is created, changed, deleted or aborted.
These powerful audit trails are time stamped to provide an accurate history of data.
Automatic saving and archiving ensures no data is ever lost, and report print outs now include the date, time, user ID, system ID, location ID or other supervisor-defined parameter.
The supervisor can set the desired level of access for operators, who must login at all times, and safeguards have been introduced to prevent the unauthorised use of passwords.
Video capture and playback is a powerful new visual aid feature.
Users can video record tests, then play back the images during results analysis.
Ideal for training and research, this helps users visually identify weak spots in designs under test.
Other new benefits include a new clear integrated HTML help system, improved test setups, machine stiffness compensation for enhanced extension accuracy on EZ and "Plus" Series test machines, extra reporting and exporting features, specially designed interface drivers for the National Instruments' LabView industry platform, and support for the new Mitutoyo, Mettler Balance and Heidenhain gauges.
Applications with Nexygen MT include testing the strength of soldered joints, specialist adhesives, welds and splices in the surface mount and PCB fabrication industry.
It is even possible to carry out the tensile strength of plastic coated copper wires and fibres whilst simultaneously checking conductivity.
Testing the functionality and fatigue strength of rocker switches, and the forces to pull off crimps ensures components will not work loose from a cable due to vibration or other motion.
The protection of valuable chips and boards is of paramount importance and compression tests can be used to measure the crush resistance of pins on components and moulded plastic chip packaging.
Like previous versions, the performance, flexibility and ease of use of Nexygen MT Version 4.5 will benefit new and experienced users.
It is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Danish and simplified Chinese languages.
