Polyurethane resin specialist ALH Systems has developed a two-part resin system it reckons is the safest in the industry

The NP2500 resin system goes well beyond the RoHS Directive and contains no mercury catalysts, no phthalate plasticisers or no monomeric isocyanates, and is classified as nonhazardous according to the latest EU criteria. NP2500 offers superb water resistance and outstanding electrical properties.

Its optical transparency and low tear strength ease component identification and removal.

The soft cured resin is flexible down to - 50C and is suitable for the most delicate electronics applications where thermal or mechanical shock is encountered.

It is likely that NP2500 will find further applications in wet and humid environments with manufacturers of sonar equipment, control modules, umbilicals and sensors being particularly interested.
