The Sanken SAP 16 Series, a range of 150W bipolar temperature-compensated Darlington transistors with built-in emitter resistors, is now available from Allegro MicroSystems Europe. Designed for audio applications, the new devices use Sanken's LEXAM (legend of excellent audio mosfet) technology to offer highly accurate and responsive temperature compensation through the use of an on-chip diode. Both N- and P-type transistors are available.

In addition to the collector power dissipation of 150W, absolute maximum ratings include collector-base and collector-emitter voltages of 150V, collector current of 15A, base current of 1A, and diode forward current of 10mA.

Other key electrical parameters include maximum collector and emitter cutoff current of 100uA, minimum collector-emitter voltage of 160V, DC current transfer ratio from 5000 to 20,000, maximum collector-emitter saturation voltage of 2V, and maximum base-emitter saturation voltage of 2.5V.

The SAP 16 Series is available in conventional TO-220 and TO-3P power packages as well as single-inline configurations.
