Board boasts international big guns
Accent has announced the composition of its new Board of Directors which includes members with broad industry, technical and international experience
Accent, one of Europe's leading and largest electronics design houses, has announced the expansion of its 'Highway to Silicon' programme with the appointment of Jaleco Nordic as its new business development partner for the Nordic region. Based in Sweden, Jaleco Nordic will act as Accent's sales office for the Nordic region targeting both IDMs (Independent Device Manufacturers) that require a reliable design outsourcing capability and the rapidly expanding community of fabless and chipless semiconductor companies who need access to quality silicon design and manufacturing services.
Also, those companies that want to utilise silicon technology as a differentiating factor to innovate their nonelectronic products in order to compete in a global market, will find Accent's ability to offer a one stop shop solution an extremely useful means of reaching their business objectives.
Jaleco Nordic will work closely with all customers to co-ordinate their requirements and provide the necessary in-depth local support to ensure first-time silicon success.
'Already working with an electronics manufacturing service provider and a variety of semiconductor companies, Jaleco Nordic is closely in touch with all our target customers from the large, internationally renowned IDMs to the small-to-medium sized fabless and chipless semiconductor companies'.
'With its focus on business development, Jaleco is perfectly placed to expand our business in the Nordic region', said Massimo Vanzi, General Manager of Accent.
Highway to Silicon enables Accent to act as a virtual IDM providing a one-stop shop for all aspects of IC design and manufacturing through to volume silicon.

In contrast to IDMs or direct foundry access, Highway to Silicon's completely open methodology gives customers total control over the whole development cycle as well as full ownership of the development results, without having to get involved in dealing with foundries, test houses or process services.
Customers can utilise it as a whole or in part, choosing those services that they want to outsource and those they prefer to keep in house.
'Whether used as an overflow design facility or as a virtual IDM, Accent's design expertise is unparalleled in Europe', said Jan Ornjager, Principal of Jaleco Nordic.
'With extensive experience in analogue, mixed-signal and VDSM designs down to 90nm and on ARM-based architectures, Accent has been responsible for over 270 successful tape-outs, many of which have been multiprocessor and low-power SoCs'.
'Additionally, Accent has long-standing relationships with the top pure-play foundries - TSMC, SMIC and Chartered - and is fully qualified to offer access to their technologies, on privileged conditions'
