Actix is developing and supplying Agilent with a version of its market-leading optimisation and analysis software for integration with Agilent's portfolio of wireless optimisation and performance solutions. Combining Agilent solutions with Actix's Diagnostic Visualisation (DV) software will help wireless carriers improve efficiencies and lower operational costs while improving the performance of their networks and services. The DV software used with Agilent's Wireless Network Optimisation Platform provides data visualisation and manipulation tools that help find the root cause(s) of network problems.

This combined solution illustrates the two companies' dedication to interoperability and open data access for wireless industry players.

Without compatibility between different vendor network optimisation solutions, operators are forced to perform additional data integration processes that result in slower performance, greater cost, reduced accuracy and lost information.

"Many of our customers worldwide use both Actix and Agilent products to improve the performance of their wireless networks.

They can be confident in the knowledge that the investments they are making today will continue to be compatible and will provide open access to all key network information in the future", said Rob Dobson, CEO of Actix.

"At Actix, we know that to achieve optimal wireless network and service performance, wireless operators must be able to quickly collect, analyse and integrate information from multiple sources and vendors - particularly as wireless networks become more complex.

That's why Actix is committed to working together with vendors of complementary products to improve the efficiency of network performance analysis for our customers".

"Wireless carriers have recently become concerned about the commitment of some equipment suppliers to the principles of interoperability - and the willingness of these equipment suppliers to provide wireless service providers with full and open access to the carriers' own critical wireless network data", said Eric McHenry, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent's Wireless Network Test Division.

"In contrast, Agilent and Actix are focused on the needs of their customers, who want compatible solutions that help them operate their networks efficiently and cost-effectively.

We are committed to working with leading industry suppliers to drive interoperability and make it easier for our customers to obtain and consolidate detailed network information to improve service performance".
