Aimtec has expanded its SIP8 and SIP9 product offering with the addition of the AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series of single and dual output, step-down DC-DC converters.

Aimtec's AMxGx-xZ product line provides a smaller alternative to larger DIP24 (32mm x 20mm x 10.2mm) packages, without compromise to power, efficiency or features.

The AMxGx-xZ range of DC-DC converters offers scalability from 1W to 3W and encompasses 374 models within an SIP8 (21.85mm x 9.2mm x 11.5mm) or SIP9 (25.91mm x 9.14mm x 12.45mm) package.

As the latest additions to this product line, the AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series offer wide input ranges of 9-36V and 18-75V with I/O isolation of 1,500V DC within an industrial operating temperature range -40C + 75C.

The AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series provides output currents of up to 500mA delivered to a regulated output voltage range of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 15V, at efficiency rates of up to 85 per cent.

The converters also feature continuous short-circuit protection and remote on/off control.

The remote on/off function in Aimtec's AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series is designed to allow the output voltage to shut-off without shutting down the input voltage.

This can be a critical issue for portable power applications where conservation of the device's power consumption is required and/or there is a need for the power supplies to switch on and off in a specific sequence.

The units are made with RoHS compliant materials.
