SOIC to DIP adapter goes RoHS-compliant
Aries Electronics has introduced an RoHS-compliant version of its SOIC to DIP Correct-A-Chip adapter.

Aries Electronics has introduced an RoHS-compliant version of its SOIC to DIP Correct-A-Chip adapter. The new adapter offers an easy method of upgrading to an SOIC without changing the PCB layout. Thanks to its novel manufacturing processes, Aries is able to offer the adapter at the lowest price in the market.
The top of the RoHS-compliant adapter accepts SOIC D or SOIC L packages and the bottom is available in DIP pin counts from eight to 28 pins.
The adapter is available on 7.62, 10.16 or 15.24mm pitch centres.
The suggested PCB hole diameter is 0.71mm.
The body is constructed of 1.56mm FR406 or IS410 per IPC4101A/24/26/28, with one ounce of copper traces on both sides.
The pads are finished with ENIG (electroless nickel/immersion gold) and the pins are 360-1/2 hard brass alloy per UNS C36000 ASTM-B16-00 with 0.25um minimum gold plating per MIL-G-45204 over 2.5um nickel plating per SAE-AMS-QQ-N-290.
The maximum operating temperature is 200C.
All tolerances are 0.13mm.
All configurations are available in panelised form as well as individual adapters.
Aries will continue to offer the standard non-RoHS-compliant version of the adapter for customers who require tin/lead plating.
All Aries Correct-A-Chip adapters are available in custom materials, platings, sizes and configurations to suit specific customer applications.
Pricing for a 24-pin adapter is $3.53 each in quantities of 100.
Delivery is stock to four weeks ARO.
